Services Provided

Memoir Maker provides:

• Editorial and writing support services
• Book design and layout services
• Hardback book printing and publishing
• Amazon publishing setup and distribution
• Related memoir creation services

Client Responsibilities

As a client, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information for your memoir project
• Participate in interview sessions (if using ghostwriting services)
• Review and approve chapters/designs in a timely manner
• Make payments according to agreed terms
• Communicate clearly about your vision and requirements
• Provide necessary materials (photos, documents) when requested

Our Commitments

Memoir Maker commits to:

• Provide professional, quality services
• Maintain confidentiality of your personal information and stories
• Keep you informed about project progress
• Deliver services according to agreed timelines (subject to your availability and approvals)
• Make revisions based on your feedback

Intellectual Property & Copyright

Your Content

• You retain all rights to your life stories, memories, and personal content
• You retain copyright to your completed memoir
• You grant us permission to use your content solely for the purpose of creating your memoir

Our Work Product

• Upon full payment, you own the completed memoir manuscript and design
• We retain the right to use anonymized project details as portfolio examples (with your permission)
• We may use generic project information for marketing (e.g., "We helped a 75-year-old veteran...") without identifying details

Payment Terms

• Deposits: Projects typically require a deposit before work begins
• Payment Schedule: Payments are made according to agreed milestones
• Final Payment: Due before final files are delivered or books are printed
• Payment Methods: We accept major credit cards and bank transfers
• Late Payments: May result in project delays

Revisions & Approvals

• Each service package includes a specified number of revision rounds
• You must approve each chapter/section before we proceed to the next
• Major changes requested after final approval may incur additional fees
• We will work with you to ensure you're completely satisfied with the final product

Project Timelines

• Timelines are estimates based on typical project flow
• Actual timeline depends on your availability for interviews/approvals
• We will communicate any potential delays as soon as we're aware
• Rush services are available for an additional fee

Cancellation & Refunds

Cancellation by Client

• You may cancel your project at any time
• Deposits are non-refundable
• You will be charged for work completed to date
• You will receive all completed work upon final payment

Cancellation by Memoir Maker

• We reserve the right to cancel a project if client is unresponsive or abusive to staff
• In such cases, you will receive a refund for work not yet completed

Publishing & Distribution

Printed Books

• Printing timelines depend on the printer's schedule
• We are not responsible for shipping delays beyond our control
• You are responsible for reviewing and approving the final proof before printing

Amazon Publishing

• Amazon publishing is subject to Amazon's terms and policies
• You retain all rights to your book
• Amazon royalties/pricing are determined by Amazon's platform
• We assist with setup but cannot guarantee Amazon's approval or performance

Confidentiality

• All Memoir Maker staff and contractors sign confidentiality agreements
• Your stories and personal information are kept strictly confidential
• We will never share your memoir content without your explicit permission

Limitation of Liability

Memoir Maker is not liable for:

• Delays caused by client unavailability or delayed approvals
• Third-party service failures (printers, shipping, Amazon)
• Factual accuracy of content you provide
• Legal issues arising from content you include in your memoir
• Damages exceeding the total amount paid for services

Client Content Responsibility

You are responsible for ensuring that content in your memoir:

• Does not violate any laws
• Does not infringe on others' intellectual property
• Does not contain libelous or defamatory statements
• Respects the privacy of other individuals mentioned

We provide writing and publishing services, not legal advice. If you have concerns about content, consult with an attorney.

Quality Guarantee

We stand behind our work:

• If you're not satisfied with our work, we'll make it right
• We'll work with you through reasonable revisions
• If there's a printing defect, we'll replace the book
• Your satisfaction is our priority

Dispute Resolution

• We prefer to resolve disputes amicably through direct communication
• If needed, disputes will be resolved through mediation before litigation
• These terms are governed by the laws of the applicable state

Changes to Terms
